(The Garden of a House near My Flat)

English old stone houses have the dignity and the beauty, which are different from those of Japanese traditional ones that are made with timbers and walls and roofed with tiles.
Each terraced houses near my flat had a small garden in the front of it and flowers bloomed from spring to autumn continuosly. It was a literally English garden.
On a cloudy or rainy day of early summer, the blackish grey stone houses were encircled with the fresh green of trees and lawn. And red flowers of tulips, geraniums and anemones were in full bloom in the gardens. The red of those flowers looked more beautiful than ever. The colour combination of the blackish grey of stone houses, the green of trees and lawn and the red of flowers is one of the most beautiful ones in England.
